Declaration of principles of the Mexican Association for Indoor

Environmental Quality, A.C. (AMEXCAI)

It is a non-profit organization, which was established with the purpose of contributing to regulation, standardization, training and supervision activities, which allow, guarantee the correct application of the disciplines and knowledge, which study, analyze, and evaluate the environments. interiors, meaning any interior area in which some human activity is carried out, all of this with the purpose of improving said environments for the benefit of their occupants and society in general, facilitating healthy and safe coexistence within them.

 

As it is an entity whose purpose is predominantly regulatory and normative, the adoption of a strict code of conduct is proposed, the observance of which is mandatory for any member of said association.

 

It is proposed that this entity acquires the commitment to bring together the best human elements of the different disciplines involved, so that in the short term the issuance of standards applicable to the different areas of human activity begins: Hospitals, Coexistence and recreation centers, Work centers, etc., whose observance is mandatory.

 

The proposed regulatory scope is the creation and issuance of documents that regulate and establish:

  • Applied Terminology.

  • Training and/or study plans for the training and accreditation of professionals specializing in CAI.

  • Parameters for the Design of Solutions for interior environments, combining aspects related to all the disciplines involved.

  • Parameters for measuring Cleaning and Maintenance of indoor environments.

  • Methodologies for the Sanitization of interior environments according to their use.

  • Remodeling of existing constructions, change of use of the property.

  • Existing problem solving techniques.

  • Methods of Inspection, evaluation and control of Indoor Environmental Quality.

  • Sampling methods and assessment of contaminant concentrations in indoor environments 

  • Establishment of the minimum requirements that must be met to build and operate any facility, from the point of view of the CAI.

The members of the Association recognize that dedicating themselves to caring for indoor environments is a profession that must be honored and respected.

 

For these reasons, the members of the Mexican Association for Indoor Environmental Quality establish the following code of ethics, which each of its members swears to respect and the Association undertakes to ensure its full compliance and observance, monitoring the activity of each one. of its members through the Ethics Committee.

 

  1. We will always provide our professional services to those who request it with integrity, competence and objectivity.

  2. We are committed to being honest, accurate and direct in our advertising.

  3. We must provide our clients with inspection and evaluation services that are objective and accurate, showing the conditions of their indoor environments; providing a written report of the situation and the necessary corrective measures.

  4. We will always appoint responsible, trained professionals with proven experience to develop our clients' projects.

  5. We will be permanently updated on the latest technology, tools, codes, standards and information in general that affects our activities.

  6. We will always provide service to our clients on terms and conditions that do not affect, compromise or harm our integrity and objectivity.

  7. We will inform our clients of any problem or anomaly that we find in their project, installation or operating system, proceeding to issue our recommendations for its solution.

  8. Charges and billing to our clients will always be reasonable based on the services and products provided.

  9. We will always be willing to listen to and address the comments, complaints and observations of our clients, guaranteeing that they will be duly resolved in a satisfactory manner for both parties.

  10. The review of the services and work developed by another member of the Association will be done only at the request of a client and we will always notify the member involved, keeping them informed and if necessary we will request their justification or assessment.

  11. We are committed to complying and making our staff comply with all the rules and regulations that apply to our professional activity, both national and international, always seeking to improve indoor environments and respecting nature.

  12. We commit to actively collaborate with our authorities at all levels of government for the issuance and application of regulations and standards that protect Indoor Environmental Quality, in the different areas of competence, contributing our knowledge and experience to have legal frameworks that seek the best solution by avoiding energy waste and ensuring the proper use of economic resources.

  13. As an Association, we are committed to training professionals who are upright, capable and aware of their role in our society.
